Terms of Service
Last updated 29 August 2026 · applies to this Kestrel instance at mailbox.regnier.me
This page covers the terms for using this Kestrel instance, operated by Mathieu Régnier at mailbox.regnier.me. Kestrel itself is open-source software; these terms are about using this particular deployment of it.
The service
Kestrel is a mail and calendar client: it connects to mail and calendar accounts you provide (via IMAP, CalDAV, or OAuth) and lets you read, search, and organise them through this web app. It is provided on a best-effort basis, without a service-level guarantee of uptime or response time.
Your account
- You are responsible for the credentials you use to sign in, and for any connected mail, calendar, or AI provider account you link.
- Do not use this service for anything unlawful, or in a way that abuses a connected account or a third-party provider's own terms.
- The operator may suspend or remove an account that is used abusively or that puts the service or other users at risk.
Third-party providers
Your mail server, calendar server, and any optional AI provider you configure remain governed by their own terms and policies. Kestrel is a client for them, not a party to your agreement with them.
No warranty
This service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The operator does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service.
Changes
These terms, and the service itself, may change over time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
